Iron Frontier Command

Iron Frontier Command asks you to juggle resources, base layout, and unit production all at once, and it does it in a way that fits a touchscreen better than I expected. Pinch to zoom, drag to select, tap to command — it becomes second nature within a match or two.

Matches can run long, so it is not something you dip into for two minutes. The AI opponents are decent enough to keep you honest, and there is a genuine satisfaction in setting up a defensive line and watching it hold. The tutorial is patient without being condescending.

This is a warm-phone game. On sustained sessions the battery goes down noticeably and the back panel heats up. I recommend playing it while charging or on a lower frame-rate setting, which the game thankfully offers in the menu.
