Big Bass Bonanza: a weekend with a very relaxing tapper

I did not expect to write much about Big Bass Bonanza. It looked like the sort of bright, simple game I would poke at for five minutes and forget. Instead it quietly became my go-to for those in-between moments — waiting for the kettle, sitting on the tram, that kind of thing.

The appeal is in the polish. Every tap gives you a splash, a bit of animation, a satisfying little number pop. The fisherman on screen reacts to what is happening, and the water looks great in a cartoonish way. It is not trying to be deep, and it never pretends otherwise, which I respect.

Controls could not be simpler. Tap to play a round, or flip on the auto mode and let it run while you do something else. That flexibility is what makes it a good background game. I left it going with the sound off during a boring call and it was oddly soothing.

On the technical side, Big Bass Bonanza barely touches the battery and stays cool on every phone I tried. That alone puts it ahead of a lot of flashier games for casual play. If you want something light and pleasant with zero pressure, it is an easy one to keep installed.
